Demystifying Your Sewing Machine: Serger Edition

Over the past year and a half, many people pulled their sewing machines out of hibernation, and others bought one for the first time. Last year we hosted a virtual workshop to help you get to know your sewing machine; and this year we are back at it to help you get to know your serger! If you have a serger at home that you would like to get acquainted (or re-acquainted) with, sign up for this one-time live session with Kat Anderson of the Apparel Industry Board, Inc. Kat will reveal the mysteries of a serger machine and answer your questions live. The $10 registration goes to support programs at both AIBI and Chicago Fair Trade.

After you register, you’ll have an opportunity to let us know your questions in advance. If there’s anything specific you’re mystified by, let us know so we can be sure to address it!

Can’t make it to the live class? Register anyway and we’ll email you a copy of the recorded class to watch at your leisure!

Kat Anderson is a seamstress and fashion historian, specializing in garment production processes. Her previous experience includes mounting a fashion exhibit at the Chicago Historical Museum, sample making for designer entrepreneurs, and stitching for the Lyric Opera of Chicago. Outside of AIBI, Kat has participated in a factory production bootcamp at the Albuquerque Fashion Incubator.

The event is finished.
