Beginner-Friendly Crochet Circle

Beginners and experts alike are welcome to join Chicago Fair Trade’s friendly drop-in crochet circle!

Led by fiber arts expert Kristine Brandel, all are welcome to join our friendly drop-in crochet circle at the South Loop Farmers Market! Perfect for both beginners and seasoned crocheters, join us on the morning of Saturday, March 9 to unwind, connect, and explore the joys of handcrafting.

All materials (crochet needles and yarn) will be provided, and Kristine will help you hone your skills and explore new techniques. Share tips, swap stories, and make new friends in a welcoming and supportive environment!

PLEASE NOTE: This circle is free to take part in, but as a small 501(c)3, we deeply appreciate a small donation to cover the cost of materials and refreshments. Suggested donation is $5 to take part or $10 if you’d like to take your crochet hooks home too.

Did you know? Crafting isn’t just a fun hobby that’s great for your mental health – it can also have a positive impact on global communities, too! Making your own clothes and accessories is a great way to be more mindful of what’s in your closet and fight against the wastefulness and poor labor practices associated with the fast fashion industry. Traditional handcrafting techniques are also integral to the cultural identity of communities around the world, and contribute to the overall richness of global heritage.

Don’t miss this opportunity to get creative and make a positive impact through your crafting endeavors. Reserve your spot today!

The event is finished.
