Mending and Masala Chai

Mending your clothes keeps them out of the landfill and lets you hold onto your favorite pieces longer. Whether you can already stitch or you’ve never thought about it, come join us for Mending and Masala Chai!

We will provide instruction and the supplies you need to hand repair your woven and knitted items. Feel free to bring anything from home you would like to use or share. Build your own mending kit with needles, pins & threads to continue mending at home.

This workshop is hosted by Chicago Fair Trade (CFT), a nonprofit that promotes fair trade: an alternative business model that alleviates poverty and protects the planet. As the largest grassroots fair trade coalition in the US, CFT educates Chicagoans about ethical trading practices, challenges corporate malpractice through advocacy, and runs the world’s first fair trade museum in Uptown.
