“We don’t need a handful of people doing zero waste perfectly. We need millions of people doing it imperfectly” – Anne-Marie Bonneau
If you want to be part of an anti-fast fashion community and:
• Learn more about the fashion industry and its social and environmental impacts
• Be part of a movement to support garment workers
• Connect with fellow Chicagoans who are looking to build a responsible wardrobe
Then this is the group for you!
Our Conscious Closet Club has two standing meetings a month. Join us on the first Monday of every month from 6:30 to 7:30 at our virtual Clonscious Closet Club meet-up, and/or come to the Chicago Fair Trade Museum the third Thursday of every month from 5:30 to 8:00 for Mending with Friends, a Community Repair Workshop. All levels are welcome!
ABOUT OUR CONSCIOUS CLOSET CLUB. An initiative of Chicago Fair Trade, the Chicago Conscious Closet Club is a community of Chicagoans with an interest in ethical clothing and fashion who learn from each other, share ideas, and have fun.
We took our name from Elizabeth Cline’s 2019 book, The Conscious Closet: The Revolutionary Guide to Looking Good While Doing Good. CFT was lucky enough to have Elizabeth headline two events in Chicago in 2019, and shortly afterward, CFTcame up with the idea of starting a club. Elizabeth was thrilled to have of use her name, and here we are!
