World Refugee Day: A Cultural Celebration
Join us for a vibrant and uplifting World Refugee Day celebration at the Chicago Fair Trade Museum on Tuesday, June 20, from 5-8pm. Co-hosted by Chicago Fair Trade and our members Re:new Project, RefuSHE, and Tulia’s Artisan Gallery, this special event will honor and celebrate the courage, cultures, and contributions of refugees from all over the world.
Join us and our emcee Jerome McDonnell, the much-loved host of WBEZ’s Worldview for many years, to hear our refugee guests share their fascinating personal stories first-hand. Experience their diverse cultures for yourselves through vibrant music and delicious lite bites from refugee-run businesses, showcasing the rich culinary heritage they bring to our Chicagoland community.
Throughout the evening, you’ll also have the chance to connect with various organizations that tirelessly support refugees both here in Chicago and around the world. Learn about their important work first-hand and discover how you can actively support them to make a positive impact.
Donations needed! We are collecting the most-needed donations for the refugee community here in Chicago. Please bring them with you on World Refugee Day, or drop them off ahead of the day at the Chicago Fair Trade Museum (opening hours 12-5pm Wednesday-Saturday).
- Joggers (except in size XXL)
- Sneakers (except in sizes 12 and up)
