Changemaker Awards 2025

Every year at Globalfest, we present awards to an organization or person who is advancing fair trade in and around Chicago. Meet this year’s award winners!

Andrea Dennis is a dedicated community organizer, educator, facilitator, and leader. A long-time supporter of Chicago Fair Trade and former board chair, Andrea can always be counted on to harness her deep expertise in fair trade, service learning, and connection-building to bring our change-making community together with passion and shared purpose.

Karen Torres is the founder of Tulia’s Artisan Gallery, a Chicago-based fair trade business showcasing Colombian artistry. A passionate advocate for preserving Indigenous traditions, Karen plays an active role in the fair trade movement as head of Chicago Fair Trade’s Business Membership Committee, member of the Fair Trade Federation, and Midwest Chapter Vendor Advisor for the Museum Store Association.

These incredible women have been instrumental in making Chicago a hub for the fair trade movement, and we’re so excited to celebrate them with you!
