Get Knitting!

A friendly knitting circle for all levels

From knitting novices to seasoned experts, all are welcome to join our friendly drop-in knitting circle!

Made a New Year’s resolution to pick up a new hobby? Want to beat the January blues with some calming craftwork? Join Chicago Fair Trade for a friendly knitting circle led by fiber arts extraordinaire Kristine Brandel to pick up some new skills, make new friends, and sample some tasty fair trade teas and snacks from our store!

All materials (knitting needles and yarn) will be provided, and all are welcome to join at any time during the market, regardless of skill level. Together, we’ll be taking part in Knit the Rainbow, a non-profit initiative to craft handmade clothing to give to homeless LGBTQ+ youth. Kristine will guide beginners through the basics of knitting a simple hat and inspire more advanced crafters to test themselves with a new challenge.

Getting there: The market is located in Roosevelt Collection shops in the space to the left of Ulta. Parking is free for 2 hours or $9 all day. The nearest Metra station is Roosevelt which is an 8-minute walk.
