Meet the Makers at Chicago Fair Trade’s Pop-Up Shop and Museum

Meet the Makers is a chance to meet some of the people behind the brilliant local businesses in Chicago Fair Trade’s member network who make their products ethically and sustainably by paying fair wages and using environmentally-friendly production methods. Come along from 5-7pm on Tuesday, October 24 to sip on a complimentary glass of fair trade wine (or beverage of your choice) and enjoy some delicious snacks as you learn the fascinating stories behind our totally unique products – and indulge in a little retail therapy, of course!

This event is part of Chicago Fair Fashion Week, a week-long celebration of Chicago’s role in building a better, fairer fashion industry. Today, not only is the global clothing industry responsible for 8-10% of global carbon emissions, but 93% of brands don’t pay their garment workers a living wage. As a designated Fair Trade City with the largest number of fair trade businesses in the US, Chicago is blazing a trail to provide all clothing-wearers with better options. Take part in Chicago Fair Fashion Week to learn more and create a more ethical and eco-friendly wardrobe!
