Watch talented leather artists do live demos of their work and take home a bouquet of beautiful fair trade roses from Ecuador (courtesy of flower farm Florecal).\n\n\n\nHNDS ON STUDIO is a collaboration between footwear designers Vanessa Arroyo founder of SERES and Yohance Lacour founder of YJL Collection. Thanks to the West Town Chamber of Commerce, we have turned our three month tenancy at 1821 W Chicago Ave into an interactive retail experience where visitors and shoppers can learn about handcrafted leather goods.\n\n\n\nMeet the artists:\n\n\n\nCROSSBAR: Founded by Maciej, Crossbar is a custom soccer apparel brand based in Chicago that curates rare vintage, reworks jerseys and handcrafts leather soccer balls.\n\n\n\nTELLER x SILVERCLAW: Founded by Japanese artist Hiromi, Teller x Silverclaw is a luxury leather accessories brand with an exquisite attention to detail.\n\n\n\nT\n\n\n\nTicket pricing: FREE!\n\n\n\nThis event is part of Chicago Fair Trade’s World Fair Trade Day Celebrations! World Fair Trade Day is an inclusive worldwide festival of events celebrating fair trade and its critical role in combating income inequality, exploitation, and climate change. Hundreds of celebrations will take place in May in over seventy countries. Chicago’s celebration is the biggest World Fair Trade Day event in the US.
